Understanding life’s lessons…

I’ve been thinking about life and how we all prefer to know precisely what to expect out of situations we find ourselves in, when we’re going to succeed at whatever goal we’re pursuing, or if we happen to be going through a tough time, when the tough time is going to end. But guess what? Life oftentimes has other plans and I’ve found that the Universe operates on its own schedule that rarely coincides with our own.

We may be simply living day to day, thinking we’re just trying to reach a specific goal of our choosing, or we’re just going through a difficult time, but perhaps life is developing other things in us, as well as teaching us how to actually deal with what we’re going through.

Too many of us fail to do periodic reality checks on ourselves, therefore some of us are truly clueless as to why our lives are in the state that they’re in, and why we at times tend to navigate in an endless spiral of negativity and precarious circumstances.

You have to be honest with yourself and acknowledge that in every situation you have ever found yourself in, be it positive or negative, the one common thread is you. Acknowledging this fact and taking responsibility means recognizing that regardless of what has happened up to this point in your life, or is currently happening, you are capable of making choices to change your situation, or to change the way you look at it.

There are times when we tend to avoid fully experiencing “where we are” because we believe it’s not “where we should be” or “where we want to be”. But we gotta alter our mindset and look at it from a different perspective; where we are now is where we need to be for the time being. So experience it, appreciate it, and keep doing what needs to be done to get where you deserve to be…
